Mark Churchland received the Award for his project entitled "A dynamical systems approach to fundamental questions in neuroscience.”

Wei Min received the Award for his project entitled "Label-Free Chemical Imaging for Biological Applications."

The award was established to promote highly innovative research and support promising new investigators, providing funding for projects that may not have the preliminary data necessary to compete for traditional NIH grants. A total of 50 investigators were selected this year to receive a 5-year research grant. More information about the program may be found at https://commonfund.nih.gov/newinnovator/.
